Book Six: The Prophet and His Revelation (1960-1965)When the first two stages of William Branham’s ministry had been well-established, the question persisted: What was the third stage to be? Following the leading of God, William Branham set about in the final five years of his life to deliver a series of sermons that would carry the church into a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the scripture that have been hidden since time began. What do the mysterious symbols in the book of Revelation mean? What is the “mystery of God” spoken of in the New Testament? These are things that have been probed at, speculated on, and debated in the institutions of Christianity for two thousand years. But what happens when God himself undertakes to reveal the answers? It has happened, and the wonderful story is here for you to hear. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Kathy Strooh. William Cobbett (1763-1835) had an interesting life as a soldier, fugitive, political prisoner, journalist, farmer, and in the end a member of Parliament. He began his political career in America and ended up becoming a Radical supporter in the UK. He advocated against the injustices he saw, saying he held "the politics of every normal person". He had a number of radical ideas and set-up a newspaper to publish his articles. This history book was published in installments in that newspaper between 1824 to 1826, when Catholic Emancipation was being ferociously debated. At the time it was a crime to say or hear Mass, or build a Catholic Church. Catholic Emancipation was finally achieved in 1829. This book is composed in a lively and strong style and is highly entertaining. Although not quite exact in some details, it makes for a fun and edifying listen. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Stephen Planalp. In this striking, enormously affecting novel, Joyce Carol Oates tells the story of two very different yet intimately linked American families. Luther Dunphy is an ardent Evangelical who envisions himself as acting out God's will when he assassinates an abortion provider in his small Ohio town while Augustus Voorhees, the idealistic doctor who is killed, leaves behind a wife and children scarred and embittered by grief. In her moving, insightful portrait, Joyce Carol Oates fully inhabits the perspectives of two interwoven families whose destinies are defined by their warring convictions and squarely - but with great empathy - confronts an intractable, abiding rift in American society. A Book of American Martyrs is a stunning, timely depiction of an issue hotly debated on a national stage but that makes itself felt most lastingly in communities torn apart by violence and hatred. ungekürzt. Kids are Americans too! And that means you have rights just like everybody else. But it's not enough to just say you have them. You have to know what those rights are...and are not! Luckily for you, Bill O'Reilly is back, opining for kids on that very subject: your legal rights.O'Reilly and his coauthor, Charles Flowers, dole out the kind of blunt, cogent, common sense commentary you count on them for. Together they explore timely questions being debated in and out of courts today, including: Can a kid wear an anti-gay T-shirt on campus? Does a school newspaper have the right to badmouth a principal? Does a mother have the right to eavesdrop on her daughter's telephone conversations? Some of the answers will surprise you. Some will empower you. All will make you think. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Rick Adamson. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/harp/001533/bk_harp_001533_sample.mp3. Romans nine has been a theological battleground for centuries. Scholars from all perspectives have debated whether Paul is teaching corporate or individual election, whether or not God truly hates Esau, and how to understand the hardening of Pharaoh's heart. Both sides have accused the other of misrepresenting God.  In this book, J. D. Myers presents a mediating position. Gleaning from both Calvinistic and Arminian insights into Romans nine, J. D. Myers presents a beautiful portrait of God as described by the pen of the Apostle Paul.  Here is a way to read Romans nine which allows God to remain sovereign and free, but also allows our theology to avoid the deterministic tendencies which have entrapped certain systems of the past.  Listen to this audiobook and—maybe for the first time-learn to see God the way Paul saw Him.  ungekürzt. Did Yehoshua speak Aramaic or Hebrew? The purpose of this book is to tackle these questions and explore the Aramaic language. This book contains over 300 Aramaic vocabulary items, Aramaic names, and Aramaic names of God which are transliterated in the text and spoken on the accompanying audio, which is free with the book. Immanuel Kant's "transcendental" philosophy transcends the question of "what" we know to ask "how" we know it. Before Kant, philosophers had debated for centuries whether knowledge is derived from experience or reason. Kant says that both views are partly right and partly wrong, that they share the same error; both believe that the mind and the world, reason and nature, are separated from one another. Kant says that our reason organizes our sense perception to produce knowledge. The mind is a creative force for understanding the manifold of new, unconceptualized sense impressions with which the world bombards us. The Giants of Philosophy is a series of dramatic presentations, in understandable language, of the concerns, questions, interests, and overall world view of history's greatest philosophers. Special emphasis on clear and relevant explanations gives you a new arsenal of insights toward living a better life. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Charlton Heston. Dan Lyons resigned as Dean at Gonzaga University to become the free world's leading advocate of winning the war in Vietnam, visiting there 17 times from 1963 to 1975. His 500 daily radio and TV broadcasts, plus his nationwide weekly columns and debates on college campuses, reached millions every week for 12 years. In this book he presents a brilliant exposé of why we lost the war, and why and how we should have won. Lyons debated Daniel Ellsberg and Jane Fonda, went fact-finding with Ross Perot, was consulted by Richard Nixon, and numbered among his friends leaders such as Chiang Kai-Shek. General Westmoreland once called him "the biggest hawk in the United States," while Newsweek fumed that Lyons was a "sulphurous advocate of rightist views." No one is more adept at putting Vietnam in perspective. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Jeff Riggenbach. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/blak/000149/bk_blak_000149_sample.mp3.
