We are all simply too busy these days. Whether we are busy chasing a career, managing a family, or studying for exams, we can all become easily overwrought with the sheer amount of "stuff" that has to be done on a day-to-day basis. Compounded in this day and age with the demands of living life on the internet and with the ever increasing demands of social media, when do we actually get the chance to "switch off"? This book tries to handle the basics of time management, whether that's simply saying "no" to unnecessary demands, ensuring that goal-setting is completed properly, or simply just trying to stop multi-tasking. What do Bill Gates from Microsoft, Zuckerberg from Facebook, Beyonce, or Usain Bolt have in common with a mom on a school run or someone running a small business? They all have 1,440 minutes in a day. Its how they manage their time and what they do with their time that dictates how well their day goes. We cannot all afford personal assistants and staff, but understanding the complexities that life throws at us and knowing how to better manage time will surely make life easier for us all. It's all about quality - not quantity. 21 Easy Tips for Better Time Management seeks to explain 21 principles in simple, plain English without too much depth. ungekürzt. Language: English.

On Time by Catherine Blyth reveals why time sped up, why there never seems to be enough and how to make it yours again. We have more time than ever - so why do we feel time poor? The short answer is that our world is addicted to fast. And we have become its servant. Instead of grasping the liberating potential of technology, many of us are locked in to a doomed race to outpace hurry. The more we value time, the less we feel we have. Angry, witty and enlightening, On Time is a handbook for navigating a fast-forward world that asks the questions productivity guides ignore: why time sped up, how it is stolen, how it really works and how to stop managing it and instead make it work for you. Blyth combines cutting-edge research from neuroscience and psychology with accessible stories from philosophy to history to sinking ships, from Leonardo da Vinci to Usain Bolt, Aristotle to Anna Wintour, Kant to Keith Richards. Delving into the secret lives of habits, decisions and motivation, she reveals why time speeds up when you long for it to slow and how time thieves take our good intentions for a walk. Find out what makes good timing; why some hours trudge while others sprint by; how bright colours, fast food and rapid breathing affect our tempo; how autonomy takes the stress out of pressure; and what hours suit which activities best. Each of us can expect 1,000 months on this planet, if we are lucky. So cease clock watching, stop stockpiling self-reproach and quit chasing white rabbits. Time is humanity's finest invention, and with small, practical steps it can become your servant. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Sophie Aldred. The complete Genius radio series, in which Dave Gorman and his celebrity guests consider the ridiculous, unworkable, but sometimes genius inventions of the public.  Guests such as Stewart Lee, Johnny Vegas, Germaine Greer and Charlie Brooker peruse a parade of proposals, be they innovations, gadgets, gizmos, philosophies or follies, in an attempt to sort the worthy from the worthless. Will they unearth some genuine gems of genius? And which pitch will win the legendary Genius trophy?  Ideas include the use of breathalysers on mobile phones to stop you making regrettable calls, a 99p coin, genetically engineered mini elephants as pets, Bovril as a fizzy drink, virtual reality headsets for chickens, Lego prisons and the best thing since sliced bread - perforated bread. If you've ever had an ingenious invention, a sublime plan for solving problems both small and large or a twisted scheme for making the world a better - or more interesting - place, then Genius is the midwife to your brainchild. The guests are Paul Daniels, Richard Madeley, John Fortune, Neil Innes, Stewart Lee, Johnny Vegas, Armando Iannucci, Chris Addison, Brian Sewell, Carol Vorderman, Sid Waddell, Germaine Greer, Gyles Brandreth, Matthew Wright, Rob Newman, Charlie Brooker and Simon Munnery. This complete collection also includes the Christmas Special edition of the show featuring Lee Mack. Bonus content: Dave Gorman’s Pub Olympics. In this one-off, very silly panel show, contestants Chris Addison, Roisin Conaty, Geoff Lloyd and Seymour Mace compete for gold medals in a series of ridiculous rounds, very loosely based on sports. Usain Bolt can run the 100m in 9.58 seconds. What do the panellists think they could do in 9.58 seconds? And what Olympic themed panel show would be complete without Quiz Akabusi? Language: English. Narrator: Dave Gorman, full cast. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/rhuk/003753/bk_rhuk_003753_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.

From elite marathoner and Olympic hopeful Becky Wade comes the story of her yearlong exploration of diverse global running communities from England to Ethiopia - nine countries, 72 host families, and over 3,500 miles of running - investigating unique cultural approaches to the sport and revealing the secrets to the success of runners all over the world. Fresh off a successful collegiate running career - with multiple NCAA All-American honors and two Olympic Trials qualifying marks to her name - Becky Wade was no stranger to international competition. But after years spent safely sticking to the training methods she knew, Becky was curious about how her counterparts in other countries approached the sport to which she'd dedicated over half of her life. So in 2012, as a recipient of the Watson Fellowship, she packed four pairs of running shoes, cleared her schedule for the year, and took off on a journey to infiltrate diverse running communities around the world. What she encountered far exceeded her expectations and changed her outlook on the sport she loved. Over the next 12 months - visiting nine countries with unique and storied running histories, logging over 3,500 miles running over trails, tracks, sidewalks, and dirt roads - Becky explored the varied approaches of runners across the globe. Whether riding shotgun around the streets of London with Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt, climbing for an hour at daybreak to the top of Ethiopia's Mount Entoto just to start her daily run, or getting lost jogging through the bustling streets of Tokyo, Becky's unexpected adventures, keen insights, and landscape descriptions take the listener into the heartbeat of distance running around the world. Upon her return to the United States, she incorporated elements of the training styles she'd sampled into her own program, and her competitive career skyrocketed. When she made her marathon debut in 2013, winning the race in a blazing 2:30, she ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Allyson Ryan.
