Quintet Music
Jon Seligman leads the percussion department at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, teaching lessons, percussion pedagogy, percussion ensemble and world music. His performing and recording credits include Michael Formanek's Minor Infractions Ensemble, Jon Metzger, Tim Jenkins, Global Percussion Trio and the Christopher James Band. Mr. Seligman's formal studies include: Berklee College of Music, Summer Institutes in Cuban, Hindustani, Turkish and West African music, history and culture at the New England Conservatory, the Arabic Music Retreat at Mt. Holyoke College, and private lessons with Eddie Moore, Glen Velez, Michel Merhej and Ganesh Kumar. In 2003, Jon Seligman was awarded a Maryland State Arts Council Grant for Jazz Composition. His latest original music CD, Quintet Music (2010) features Dave Ballou, Bruce Swaim, Harry Appelman and Jeff Reed.- Shop: odax
