Lucy: She's perfectly happy living with her dog (named Bear) and her two horses (Trixie & Ditto) in her fixer-upper cabin in the mountains. She's seen some weird stuff going on out in the woods, but has given up even thinking about that - until Lucky Dawg shows up at her door (yes, his last name really is Dawg).Lucky: He has a few funny male quirks - it's a guy thing. He's decided to write Online articles about some of the weird happenings in the world (mostly to prove that they're "natural" happenings), and Lucy is his first attempt to write an article. Will Lucy even speak with Lucky when he shows up at her door? How will Bear react? Is it just some weirdos riding 4-wheelers through the woods having fun spooking Lucy, as Lucky originally thinks from reading the short article on the Internet - or is it something more sinister? This audiobook has a happy-ever-after ending. This is the first book in the series, but is also a stand-alone listen. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Scott Pollak. As the only female columnist at controversial, conservative Taki's Magazine, Kathy Shaidle soon found herself covering an unlikely beat: sexuality. "Unlikely" because as the married, 50-year-old Shaidle explains, "my 'number' (as the kids call it these days) is so low that in certain Australian provinces I would still be considered a virgin." Confessions of a Failed Slut blends personal reflections - "How the Love Boat Ruined My Life" - with contrarian takes on porn (online and off), dating (ditto), "slut shaming," sex toys, "robot hookers of the near future," dinosaur erotica, the multiplication of genders and orientations, and what she calls "the epidemic of beta male faggotry" plaguing the land. An author and blogging pioneer, Kathy Shaidle has been called "a night terror" (Wonkette), "one of the great virtuoso polemicists of our day" (Mark Steyn), "strenuously witless" (James Walcott), "a purveyor of some of the most offensive racial stereotypes I have ever read" (the Canadian Jewish Congress), "a Zionist shill for the New World Order" (InfoWars) and "not a particularly nice person" (Alex Koppelman, Salon.com). ungekürzt. American culture is strange, and it appears even stranger after a hiatus. Cue Everett, back in Chicagoland after living in China. His head is spinning. His father has just died, plus basic reentry to the life he once knew is increasingly taxing and complicated. On top of that, it seems that while he was abroad, everyone Everett cared about dove off the deep end into some particular madness. Exhibit A: Everett’s mom, recently widowed and with a newfound faith in healing crystals and a ponytailed guru. Exhibit B: former roommate Dino and his new ascetic lifestyle - no more tasty food, ditto with sexy thoughts and the rest of life’s pleasures. Increasingly driftless and desperate, Everett signs onto an unconventional business venture that lands him at the center of the high-stakes world of mushroom smuggling.Everett observes many strange desires in the world, as well as the lengths people are willing to go to meet those needs. Do the ends justify the means? What even are the ends? Eastbound into the Cosmos is the story of Everett’s attempt to process it all - the longing, the grief, the weirdness. Along the way, he discovers the weird in himself, too, which may just be the thing that ultimately frees him. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Richard Liccardo. A New York Times best-selling author and America's preeminent political satirist, P. J. O'Rourke also has another side to him - a gear-loose gearhead, automotive devotee, and terrifying driver. Son and grandson of car dealers in Ohio, P.J.'s family has been in the motor vehicle business since before there were motors in vehicles. And P.J. has been writing about cars - for Car and Driver, Automobile, Esquire, Forbes, and other publications - for what seems like almost as long. In this newly collected anthology of spiels-on-wheels, O'Rourke celebrates cars and berates car haters, and chronicles America's relationship with automobiles from love for a powerful chariot of freedom to tolerance of an oversized household appliance with an extra-long extension cord. Driving Like Crazy brings together 30-some years of journalistic cornering on two wheels, none of which has been reprinted before. Or almost none of which. P.J. did include his classic "How to Drive Fast on Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and Not Spill Your Drink". And he's written an appendix to that piece of sage advice for those who, like himself, are 30 years older now: "How to Do Ditto While the Drugs Are Mostly Lipitor". ungekürzt. Language: English. They began kissing the moment Carl closed his front door. Gia considered it an act of sheer willpower that she had been able to resist him that long. He lived down the street from Two Brothers in the opposite direction from Betty's, in a small house on a hill. Gia shivered in the desert night air as they walked up the sidewalk. He opened the door and she stepped inside, then turned around and into his lips, waiting for hers. The warmth and energy of his lips felt like an electric shock that moved straight through her body, and she put her hands on his chest to stabilize herself. "I've been wanting to do that all night," Carl said. "Ditto," Gia replied. She kissed him again, pulling him toward her, and she began to undo his shirt. His chest was firm, broad, and warm. She ran her palms over his flesh and felt herself getting more and more aroused with each moment. She knew Carl was aroused as well; she could feel his arousal against her thigh as she stood with him. He pulled away and looked at her, his crystal blue eyes searching hers. She gave no resistance as he grabbed.... Warning: this book contains steamy romance scenes and is not suitable for all ages. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Rebecca Wolfe. There's no right way to keep a diary, but if there's an entertaining way, David Sedaris seems to have mastered it. If it's navel-gazing you're after, you've come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers jumping to his death. There's a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party-lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs. These diaries remind you that you once really hated George W. Bush, and that not too long ago, Donald Trump was a harmless laughingstock, at least on French TV. Time marches on, and Sedaris, at his desk or on planes, in fine hotel dining rooms and odd Japanese inns, records it. The entries here reflect an ever-changing background-new administrations, new restrictions on speech and conduct. What you can say at the start of the book, you can't by the end. At its best, A Carnival of Snackery is a sort of sampler: the bitter and the sweet. Some entries are just what you wanted. Others you might want to spit discreetly into a napkin.

Jimmy Carter: America's best ex-president? Only if you're not bothered by the resurgence of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism (which started on his watch), the shamefaced foreign policy of Bill Clinton and John Kerry (ditto), and think that ex-presidents should travel the world coddling dictators and bad-mouthing America la Jesse Jackson. Jimmy Carter has been given a free ride from the liberal media, liberal historians, and even the American people, who excuse his political delinquencies and disasters on the grounds that he is a "good" man. But as bank robber Willie Sutton said of Carter: "I've never seen a bigger confidence man in my life, and I've been around some of the best in the business." It's time to set the record straight. Finally, an honest historian Steven F. Hayward, author of The Age of Reagan demolishes the myth of "Saint" Jimmy and exposes how he created today's leftist Democratic party of John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. Jimmy Carter's laundry list of failures aren't just accidents of history: They're rooted in Carter's deeply flawed character and ideology - a smugly pious arrogance matched with a profound distrust of America. The Real Jimmy Carter reveals: Carter as meddling ex-president: Why a Time magazine columnist wrote that some of Carter's "Lone Ranger work has taken him dangerously close to the neighborhood of what we used to call treason" How Carter befriended North Korea during the Clinton administration, appeasing the communist regime and giving it cover for its nuclear weapons program How Carter made direct contacts with Soviet officials to try to subvert President Reagan's anti-communist policies The shocking extent of Carter's clandestine efforts to sabotage the first Gulf War in 1990 and how he used Gulf War II to publicly question the Christian faith of America's commander in chief How Carter befriended Yasir Arafat - making himself an enemy of Isr ungekürzt. Welcome to the bully pulpit where opinions fly but common sense rules. Here's where you'll find straight talk about the most pressing issues of the day, all delivered in the trademark commonsense style of one of America's most popular and admired television news anchors. Always resisting the political label that attempts to place people in one ideological camp or another, Greta Van Susteren speaks from the mind and the heart, not as a liberal or a conservative, but as a right-thinking, sensible citizen. "Our country is at a critical juncture," she writes, and "too many of us are caught up in old definitions of left and right that no longer apply. If I favor the death penalty in some cases, does that make me right-wing? If I think hate crimes legislation is stupid, does that make me a conservative? If I happen to like and enjoy Ozzy Osbourne and have him on my show, does that make me a liberal? And if I believe that corporations should be held accountable if their products harm citizens and they should be subject to the rulings of a jury - ditto for doctors who commit medical malpractice - does that make me a lefty trial lawyer?"  Here's more of Greta in her own words:On the military: Liberty isn't free. As a nation, we must provide for the men and women who put their lives on the line for us. That means good pay, adequate funding for defense, and our heartfelt support.Vietnam was a very long time ago. We Baby Boomers have to wake up and realize that today’s military is a different military from the one we grew up with, and we are fighting a very different war. Patriotism is not a conservative or a liberal thing. Patriotism, as far as I am concerned, is the duty and obligation of every American. On the Supreme Court: There should be a litmus test for Supreme Court and federal court judges, and that test should be their opinion about allowing public access to court proceedings. Let cameras inside the courthouse, or at least allow an ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Greta Van Susteren. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/rand/000311/bk_rand_000311_sample.mp3.
