Sein Landsmann und Kollege Christophe Rousset musste sein Dirigat für die beiden Barock+-Konzerte krankheitshalber leider kurzfristig absagen. Gemeinsam mit dem hr-Sinfonieorchester präsentiert er ein beziehungsreiches Programm mit dem »Stabat Mater« Luigi Boccherinis im Zentrum. Das mittelalterliche Gedicht, zehn Strophen umfassend und die ihren gerade am Kreuz gestorbenen Sohn beweinende Gottesmutter thematisierend, muss eine geradezu magische Anziehungskraft ausgeübt haben auf Komponisten gleich welcher Zeit. Nicht weniger als 600 Vertonungen soll es von ihm geben, die bekannteste ist die von Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. Doch eine nicht minder sublime, in ihrer Schlichtheit zu Herzen gehende Version gelang dem in Spanien wirkenden Italiener Luigi Boccherini, einem Meister des direkt ansprechenden, ungekünstelt-melodischen klassischen Stils. Ganz auf die vorösterliche Karwoche abgestimmt ist das Konzert auch mit der »Maurerischen Trauermusik«, einem eher unbekannten, aber solitären Mozart-Werk, das in seiner tiefen Innigkeit und durch zwei Bassetthörner mitbestimmten Klanglichkeit einen einzigartigen Reiz entfaltet.Konzertdauer: ca. 75 Minuten___________NOTE: There will be a change of program and line-up for this concert. The French conductor Jean-Christophe Spionsi, who has accepted an invitation to the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt for the seventh time since 2009, will conduct. His compatriot and colleague Christophe Rousset unfortunately had to cancel his conducting duties for the two Barock+ concerts at short notice due to illness. This change also affects the program of the evening and the participating soloists, which we will publish here in a timely manner.The French harpsichordist and conductor Christophe Rousset is a guest at Barock+ for the first time. Together with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, he presents a programme rich in relationships with Luigi Boccherini´s »Stabat Mater« at its centre. The medieval poem, comprising ten stanzas and thematising the Mother of God weeping over her Son who had just died on the cross, must have exerted an almost magical attraction on composers of all times. There are said to be no fewer than 600 settings of it, the best known being by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. But the Italian Luigi Boccherini, who worked in Spain and was a master of the directly appealing, unaffectedly melodic classical style, succeeded in creating a no less sublime version that touched the heart in its simplicity. The concert is also completely attuned to the pre-Easter Holy Week with the »Maurerische Trauermusik«, a rather unknown but solitary Mozart work, which unfolds a unique charm in its deep intimacy and tonality co-determined by two basset horns.Concert duration: about 75 minutes
