Horusian Wars: Incarnation: Warhammer 40,000 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 602min
Darkness approaches Dominicus Prime, a literal Season of Night that brings with it portents, madness and strange happenings. Standing alone as a beacon against the darkness is the Monastery of the Last Candle, a temple to the holy light of the Emperor. As the bishops and the cardinals vie for power and influence, a crisis looms among the Pilgrim Drift who are starving in their droves. Discord is rife, and there are whispers of a rising cult, one committed to blood and horror. Into this political powder keg comes Inquisitor Covenant and his followers. Drawn to the shrineworld by the prescience of the Emperor's Tarot, they come seeking the agents of the Triumverate, a sect of Horusians bent on power themselves. It is the belief of Covenant that these radicals seek an incarnation, nothing less than a divine vessel, a living saint. To what end, he can only surmise, but Covenant knows it cannot bode well. He must deny the Horusians at any cost. The fate of the very sector may be determined by it. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: John Banks. Philosophy of Therapy: An Inquiry into the Reasons and Beliefs for Therapists to Do What They Do as They Do It , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 169min
Philosophy of Therapy is a critical inquiry into the reasons and beliefs for therapists of all modalities to do what they do, as they do it. This work was conceived as an invitation for therapists and philosophers to dialogue about the nature of therapy and the justifications used not only in the practice of therapy but also in the formation of new therapists. We surmise that as the world becomes more complex, both the population and the proportion of the population seeking a better quality of life increases. This exponential increase in the number of people seeking deeper meaning for their lives makes it necessary for more therapists than ever to be available to serve the public.I believe that only the application of the philosophical method of inquiry will generate the novel forms of therapies required in the new millennium, and the massive number of therapists likely to be needed. The Philosophy of Therapy is now in its third edition, with a revised text and a new section on therapy added. In your personal portal at www.flaviolife.com/pot we ask that you make your philosophical contributions to the philosophy of therapy. Thank you! ungekürzt. Language: English. Unbelievable (Movie Tie-In): The Story of Two Detectives' Relentless Search for the Truth , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 606min
Now the Netflix limited series Unbelievable, starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever, and Kaitlyn Dever. Two Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists tell the riveting true crime story of a teenager charged with lying about having been raped — and the detectives who followed a winding path to arrive at the truth. “Gripping.... [with a] John Grisham-worthy twist.” (Emily Bazelon, New York Times Book Review, Editors’ Choice)On August 11, 2008, 18-year-old Marie reported that a masked man broke into her apartment near Seattle, Washington, and raped her. Within days police and even those closest to Marie became suspicious of her story: details of the crime didn't seem plausible, and her foster mother thought she sounded as though she were reciting a Law & Order episode. The police swiftly pivoted and began investigating Marie. Confronted with inconsistencies in her story and the doubts of others, Marie broke down and said her story was a lie - a bid for attention. Police charged Marie with false reporting. One of Marie's best friends created a web page branding her a liar. More than two years later, Colorado detective Stacy Galbraith was assigned to investigate a case of sexual assault. Describing the crime to her husband that night - the attacker's calm and practiced demeanor, which led the victim to surmise "he's done this before" - Galbraith learned that the case bore an eerie resemblance to a rape that had taken place months earlier in a nearby town. She joined forces with the detective on that case, Edna Hendershot, and the two soon realized they were dealing with a serial rapist: a man who photographed his victims, threatening to release the images online, and whose calculated steps to erase all physical evidence suggested he might be a soldier or a cop. Through meticulous police work the detectives would eventually connect the rapist to other attacks in Colorado - and beyond. Based on investigative files ungekürzt. Language: English. Transfixed by Prehistory (eBook, PDF)
An examination of how modern art was impacted by the concept of prehistory and the prehistoricPrehistory is an invention of the late nineteenth century. In that moment of technological progress and acceleration of production and circulation, three major Western narratives about time took shape. One after another, these new fields of inquiry delved into the obscure immensity of the past: first, to surmise the age of the Earth; second, to find the point of emergence of human beings; and third, to ponder the age of art. Maria Stavrinaki considers the inseparability of these accounts of temporality from the disruptive forces of modernity. She asks what a history of modernity and its art would look like if considered through these three interwoven inventions of the longue durée. Transfixed by Prehistory attempts to articulate such a history, which turns out to be more complex than an inevitable march of progress leading up to the Anthropocene. Rather, it is a history of stupor, defamiliarization, regressive acceleration, and incessant invention, since the "new" was also found in the deep sediments of the Earth. Composed of as much speed as slowness, as much change as deep time, as much confidence as skepticism and doubt, modernity is a complex phenomenon that needs to be rethought. Stavrinaki focuses on this intrinsic tension through major artistic practices (Cézanne, Matisse, De Chirico, Ernst, Picasso, Dubuffet, Smithson, Morris, and contemporary artists such as Pierre Huyghe and Thomas Hirschhorn), philosophical discourses (Bataille, Blumenberg, and Jünger), and the human sciences. This groundbreaking book will attract readers interested in the intersections of art history, anthropology, psychoanalysis, mythology, geology, and archaeology.- Shop: buecher

An Intellection on the Post Mechanics of Death , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 361min
Hades: The alabaster streets are terribly empty, bare, and absent of any life or moving form. "Hello? Where is everybody?" I speak, but the emptiness makes my voice even that much more alone. How can this be? Everyone dies, I surmise, don't we all return back home to take up again the art of eternity? Where is everyone hiding? Billions of years! The cycle of to and fro, mortal schools of thought and reflections, to live anew, die, and come back alive. This cycle was not about to change now! Where the hell was everyone at? All of us have been doing this same exact thing for forever! Was it not just yesterday that we all arrived here from the Center of All Things? Was it not just yesterday we arrived here to establish a new home from our eternal parents? Did not God, the father, the mother of us all, thee all-knowing supermassive black hole being at the center of all things demand expansion? Something was terribly wrong. "Hello!" I repeat over and over again, running wildly through the empty white streets. "Anyone, please!" I leave not a single corner unexplored, no building was left unsearched. The great coliseums of government were stripped clean, not even a crumb was left to weep over. Years, ancient, long count calendar years, escape my tireless search. I am consumed, until the end...when it becomes more than apparent that I must not, cannot, stay here. There is a world where the sentient beings experience love and find their mates by a single touch of their left hands. Embedded in their left hands is a cortex extension of their cerebral nervous system. It extends down through the left arm into their palm and is completely inert until such time that they touch their DNA match for procreation. The left hands then entwine on contact with their cellular mates and they are then connected and inseparable for the space of two years, two months, and two days. ungekürzt. Language: English.
