Nach Auffassung unserer Politiker geht die Erde einer Erwärmungskatastrophe mit drastischem Anstieg des Meeresspiegels, Überschwemmungen und Trockenheiten und anderen Wetterkapriolen entgegen. Dagegen sollen teure Maßnahmen helfen: CO2-Steuern, Energiepässe für Hausbesitzer bis hin zu Reglementierungen der Industrie und künstlich verteuerte Energiekosten.Doch wo und wie ist die Klimakatastrophe nachweisbar? Bisher belegen das nur fragwürdige Modelle. Es gab bisher immer Klimaschwankungen und daneben lokale Veränderungen aufgrund von Eingriffen in das bisher Vorhandene (z. B. Regenwaldrodung, spezielle Bodennutzung etc.) und Katastrophen aufgrund mangelhafter Vorbereitung (z. B. Küstenschutz bei Katrina in New Orleans).Das Buch zeigt auf, dass es in früheren Epochen, z. B. im Mittelalter und um Christi Geburt, wärmer und in anderen, z. B. im Maunder-Minimum um 1600 mit Missernten, Hungernöten und Hexenverfolgungen, kälter war als heute. Es belegt, dass für die Klimaschwankungen inerster Linie die Sonne verantwortlich ist. Der Mensch hat nur geringen Anteil, zumal das für die angebliche Klimaerwärmung verantwortliche CO2 nur zu einem äußerst geringen Teil an der Klimaveränderung beteiligt ist. Ohnehin ist der vom Menschen produzierte Anteil von CO2 gegenüber dem durch Vulkane und andere natürliche Phänomene verursachten CO2-Ausstoß äußerst gering. Der Autor zeigt auch, dass die Messdaten, die eine angebliche Klimaerwärmung vorgeben, in manchen Fällen manipuliert wurden und dass durchaus nicht die große Mehrheit der Klimawissenschaftler von der Theorie der Klimaerwärmung überzeugt ist. Eine ganze Reihe von ihnen erwartet in den nächsten Jahren wieder eine Abkühlung, ähnlich der des Dalton-Minimums vor 200 Jahren.
